Who are we?

Welcome to East African Human Rights Institute (EAHRI)

The East African Human Rights Institute (EAHRI) is a human rights institute registered in the United Republic of Tanzania in East Africa, the Institute works to promote human rights at the local and regional levels through research, training, professional courses, consultancy, and publications.

The EAHRI works to provide a better learning environment for human rights defenders, government officials, judiciary officials, lawyers, college students and the public at large across the African Community Region. As a solitary human rights training, research, and consultancy Institute across Africa, EAHRI focuses on human rights education, huma rights consultancy, research, and expert human rights reporting. Given the fact that specialized human rights courses are inadequate in many East Africa Universities and particularly in Tanzania, this institute strives to become a centre of excellence in offering registered and contextualized human right studies in this sub- region.

The institute, which draws its strength from a pool of adjunct NGOs and human rights experts, has an obligation to provide quick, efficient, and accurate services and consultancy to an array of clients at a lower cost. The organization has internal and external pool of eminent, long experienced, and skilled human rights professionals who work closely with partners in a wide range of practice areas including academia, judiciary, civil society, and the government. While we are trying to achieve the very best in whatever we do, our priority is to create and deliver high quality products and services in a way that meets our clients’ aspirations. As a region's professional think tank organization in the field of human rights the organization will advance human rights education and training, while producing relevant policy publications through research, expert reports, publications, and consultancies.
