Welcome to East African Human Rights Institute (EAHRI)

The East African Human Rights Institute (EAHRI) is a limited liability company and profit- making human rights organization registered in the United Republic of Tanzania. The Institute was founded in 2020 by renowned human rights activists in East Africa. The firm is bestowed with the responsibility to broadly protect, monitor and promote human rights at local and regional levels through consultancy, research and human rights education. Our role encompasses research, analysis, archiving, human rights education and knowledge sharing

The Institute, is built on human rights principles of universal, mutually dependent and interrelated, is working to provide better learning environment for human rights defenders, state, judiciary officials, legislators, lawyers, students and members of the public across the East African Community (EAC) region. The institute build on years of experience as one of the largest and credible indigenous East African human rights training, research and consultancy firm. The institute has deepened broad background in-law, Governance, marginalized populations, and broader human rights tools and mechanisms learning that develops the KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and VALUES of human rights with the broad goal of building a universal human rights culture.

Recognizing existing specialized human rights courses adequately taught in many universities across the EAC bloc, the institute is striving to become a center of excellence in offering registered and contextualized human right studies in this sub- region.

The institute, draws its strength from devout obligation to human rights, has developed distinct approaches to provide quick, efficient and accurate human rights education and consultancy. The organization, comprises of seasoned and young but skilled human rights professionals. The institute build close working relations with partners in a wide range of practice areas including academia, judiciary, civil society and the government. While the institute tries to achieve the very best in whatever we do, our priority is to create and deliver high quality products and services.
